What changes in human society coincided with the beginning of monotheism?

Was it improvements in agriculture allowing people to cease a hunter/gatherer lifestyle and live in cities? Was it the change from using soft metal implements with low melting points to using iron implements? Something occurred to make people abandon their traditional form of polytheistic worship; what was it?

Adam and Eve were monotheists.

If Socialism (or its many variations) doesn’t work, how do you explain these historical instances?

The Paris Commune of 1871: Parisians drove out the ruling classes and established the Commune. During its existence, its supporters enacted/implemented the following:

- the separation of church and state.
- the remission of rents owed for the entire period of the siege (during which, payment had been suspended).
- the abolition of night work in the hundreds of Paris bakeries.
- the granting of pensions to the unmarried companions and children of National Guards killed on active service.
- the free return, by the city pawnshops, of all workmen’s tools and household items valued up to 20 francs, pledged during the siege; the Commune was concerned that skilled workers had been forced to pawn their tools during the war.
- the postponement of commercial debt obligations, and abolition of interest on the debts; and
the right of employees to take over and run an enterprise if it were deserted by its owner.

Other initiatives/policies included the rise of a feminist movement, workers’ democracy, and free meals and clothing for school children. The Army of Versailles put an end to all that when it laid siege to and massacred the citizens of the Commune after two months of effective and efficient control. Most of the gains made under the Paris Commune were rolled back upon the defeat of the Communards.

The Spanish Revolution: saw the widespread implementation of socialist and anarchist policies from Catalonia to Andalusia. This account by Gaston Leval sheds light on what happened during this time:

"In Spain during almost three years, despite a civil war that took a million lives, despite the opposition of the political parties (republicans, left and right Catalan separatists, socialists, Communists, Basque and Valencian regionalists, petty bourgeoisie, etc.), this idea of libertarian communism was put into effect. Very quickly more than 60% of the land was collectively cultivated by the peasants themselves, without landlords, without bosses, and without instituting capitalist competition to spur production. In almost all the industries, factories, mills, workshops, transportation services, public services, and utilities, the rank and file workers, their revolutionary committees, and their syndicates reorganized and administered production, distribution, and public services without capitalists, high salaried managers, or the authority of the state.
Even more: the various agrarian and industrial collectives immediately instituted economic equality in accordance with the essential principle of communism, ‘From each according to his ability and to each according to his needs.’ They coordinated their efforts through free association in whole regions, created new wealth, increased production (especially in agriculture), built more schools, and bettered public services. They instituted not bourgeois formal democracy but genuine grass roots functional libertarian democracy, where each individual participated directly in the revolutionary reorganization of social life. They replaced the war between men, ’survival of the fittest,’ by the universal practice of mutual aid, and replaced rivalry by the principle of solidarity…
This experience, in which about eight million people directly or indirectly participated, opened a new way of life to those who sought an alternative to anti-social capitalism on the one hand, and totalitarian state bogus socialism on the other."

Another account, by George Orwell – who fought on the side of the socialists during the Civil War – also helps:

"To anyone who had been there since the beginning it probably seemed even in December or January that the revolutionary period was ending; but when one came straight from England the aspect of Barcelona was something startling and overwhelming. It was the first time that I had ever been in a town where the working class was in the saddle. Practically every building of any size had been seized by the workers and was draped with red flags and with the red and black flag of the Anarchists; every wall was scrawled with the hammer and sickle and with the initials of the revolutionary parties…Every shop and cafe had an inscription saying that it had been collectivized; even the bootblacks had been collectivized and their boxes painted red and black. Waiters and shop-walkers looked you in the face and treated you as an equal. Servile and even ceremonial forms of speech had temporarily disappeared…There were no private motor-cars, they had all been commandeered, and the trams and taxis and much of the other transport were painted red and black…so far as one could judge the people were contented and hopeful. There was no unemployment, and the price of living was still extremely low…Above all, there was a belief in the a belief in the revolution and the future, a feeling of having suddenly emerged into an era of equality and freedom."
____________

Socialism is a possibility which can be established through a struggle against capitalism by organized worker, surprisingly Capitalism has been learned many things from socialist experience but based on its contradictions there is a tendency to socialization of economy .Capitalism development show that competition between a large number of firms is a myth. There is a tendency of absorbing the small and defeated firms by the powerful firms.the nature of Capitalist production is socially organized but the profit of products are gained by owner of the means of production.this basic contradiction is the main source of defeating of capitalism but as Marx put forward the struggle between antagonistic classes is not certainly come to a happy ending(socialism),there is a possibility SOCIALISM or Barbarism.you know Capitalists do not easily ignore the profits. To avoid of barbarism you should struggle for socialism .
long live peace ,freedom and equality.

Tractor Mandi in Punjab

There was times when there were animal fairs (Animal Mandi) in Punjab, where people used to buy, sell or exchange Cows, Buffaloes, Camels, Goats and other animals for their farming and domestic needs. Due to arrival of Mechanized farming there is less trade in animals but more trade in machinery and farming implements. The green revolution in Punjab has been blessing and troublesome for the farmers of the state, you can judge from this segment some of the problems mentioned. Kalcine captured this segment in 2009 near Jalal distict Bhatinda
